I'm a regular reader of Download Squad, which is usually a pretty good source of information about Web 2.0 stuff. However, they seem unduly optimistic about the advent of GDrive, Google's alleged "file storage in the cloud" product.
I used to be in the cloud file storage biz, which is why these occasional Download Squad posts catch my attention. Sure, Google could provide its own version of countless other XDrive-like services. But will they? Mmmmm, not so sure.
It's logical to round out the other cloud collaboration tools--calendar, e-mail, Wiki, etc.--with files. It's especially interesting if Google wants to let users share the same files across these different tools, as e-mail attachments, Wiki-referenced documents, and the same file-based content appearing in other locations. Heck, it'd be really interesting, and blazingly obvious, if Google Docs shared the same back-end storage for this content.
However, interesting is not the same thing as likely, especially the way Google operates. If there's no strong constituency inside Google interested in developing GDrive, then it might materialize, but it's not going to be the universal back end for unstructured data that Google fans might assume it should be.
Very cool pdcruot! I've used a fish pump with a v valve and fish hose in the past. (I have 5 kids, one of which is 1 3/4 yrs old). I like this pdcruot and I will put the word out there at my sandwich shop about it and even more, your wonderful web company. I get tons of women in with kids because I'm located adjacent to a huge daycare center. Actually, I'll give them your website on Monday because the infants section is very busy. Great job! Your baby carrier cover looks great too. Be well.
